Dominion Biosyn – Releasing June 14th for Jurassic World Evolution 2

Frontier Developments have announced their largest expansion yet, for the park-building dino-management sim Jurassic World Evolution 2. Available for PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms, the Dominion Biosyn expansion brings new content for both Campaign and Chaos Theory modes, new mechanics and stunning new dinosaurs and skins. In addition to the paid DLC, Dominion Biosyn also launches alongside a free update which brings a number of new features.

The Basics

Dominion Biosyn is set to launch on June 14th, costing £15.99, $19.99 or €19.99. Frontier have told us that this will be the biggest DLC to date, and is inspired by the epic events of the new sure-fire Hollywood blockbuster Jurassic World Dominion which releases worldwide on June 10th.

Players will find the usual star-studded original cast returning for a wide number of roles. Original voices return for Claire Dearing, Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler, who you’ll hear from throughout the campaign. In addition, you’ll work alongside the notorious Lewis Dodgson (the primary antagonist of the 1993 epic Jurassic Park), who has risen to become the head of Biosyn Genetics.

New Mechanics

As well as a whole new story, Dominion Biosyn brings some exciting new gameplay features. Primary among these is the ability to dig deep into amber mines. Well known as the driving force behind InGen’s capability to bring majestic and terrifying dinosaurs back to life, this amber will allow players to unearth rare genomes and create prehistoric feathered species completely new to the franchise.

In addition, Dominion Biosyn also allows players to utilise invisible fencing, to provide an innovative aesthetic solution to containing and controlling their park inhabitants. As well as this, fast transport will now allow players to instantly move staff around their parks.

The new Pyroraptor is an intimidating feathered addition to your park

Alongside the new campaign, players will also find a new “what if” scenario within the game’s Chaos Theory mode. Set in the beautiful Sierra Nevada environment, the new What If scenario will see players operating through pine forests, snowy hills and sweeping plains to build their own facility to house dinosaurs and ensure their safety. The new “what if” Chaos Theory scenario is inspired by the events of Jurassic World Dominion and is likely to feature more of the same well-known and well-loved characters and voices.

New Dinosaurs

As well as completely new additions, amber mining and new capabilities will bring a number of new skins and aesthetics to the title. Two incredible feathered dinosaurs appear in Dominion Biosyn, and players will be able to create Therizinosaurus and Pyroraptor. In addition, the pre-pre-history Dimetrodon also appears, as well as Quetzalcoatlus, one of the largest flying animals of all time.

Even with these in mind, the new variants and skins for existing dinosaurs are also exceptionally exciting. Players will find a new feathered and scarred Tyrannosaurus Rex, as well as new skins for Dilophosaurus and parasaurolophus, and new variants for the Dreadnoughtus and Giganotosaurus.

More dinosaurs, more teeth. What could go wrong?

Free Features for all Players

While Dominion Biosyn is a paid expansion, it also launches alongside a free update, bringing new features and improvements to all players. This brings new dinosaur-wrangling mechanics, which will allow players to move herds of dinosaurs cowboy-style, within the need for tranquilisation and transportation. Chaos Theory maps will also be made available as Challenge levels, and the title also features a number of further transporting enhancements as well as more updates throughout the title.
